Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information BlazyPix (the “Site”, “we”, or “us”) may collect from you, how we use it, and your choices regarding your information. This policy is compliant with U.S. privacy laws and includes disclosures required for Google AdSense (the advertising program we use). By using BlazyPix, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We generally collect two types of information:

  • Personal Information you provide to us: This includes information you voluntarily provide when interacting with the site. For example, if you subscribe to a future newsletter or leave a comment (if that feature is enabled), you might provide your name, email address, or social media handle. If you contact us by email (e.g., hello@blazypix.com), we will receive whatever info you choose to include (such as your email address and name). We do not collect sensitive personal data like addresses, phone numbers, or financial information, as we currently don’t have user accounts, purchases, or sign-ups on the site beyond basic contact.

  • Usage Data & Automatic Information: Like many websites, we automatically receive and log certain types of information when you visit BlazyPix. This may include your IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our site you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on those pages, and other diagnostic data. We might use analytics tools (like Google Analytics) to help understand traffic and improve site content; these tools may use cookies or similar technologies to collect anonymized data about website use.

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your browser by websites you visit. They contain a unique identifier that allows the website to recognize your browser and remember certain information. BlazyPix uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for a few reasons:

  • Essential Cookies: These are necessary for the site to function. For instance, if we ever implement a login or a pop-up that should only appear once, a cookie might be used to remember your preferences.

  • Analytics Cookies: To understand how visitors use the site and to improve user experience, we may use third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) which set their own cookies. These help us see which posts are popular, how users navigate the site, etc., in aggregate.

  • Advertising Cookies: BlazyPix displays advertisements through Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve ads that are potentially more relevant to you. These cookies remember if you’ve visited this or other websites and may use that information to show you targeted ads. For example, if you were looking at shoes on another website, you might see shoe ads on BlazyPix. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to show you ads based on your visits to BlazyPix and/or other sites on the Internet.

These advertising cookies do not personally identify you; they just assign a number to your browser. (For more details, see Section 4 on third-party advertising.) You can choose to disable or refuse cookies via your browser settings, but note that some parts of the site might not function properly if cookies are disabled.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes, including:

  • To operate and maintain the site: Ensure that pages load correctly and content is delivered securely.

  • To improve your experience: Understanding what content readers enjoy helps me create more of it. Usage data (like page views or time spent on page) guides me in tweaking site layout and content strategy.

  • To communicate with you: If you contact me or if in the future BlazyPix offers a newsletter and you sign up, I would use your email to send responses or updates you requested. I won’t send spam or sell your email address.

  • To serve personalized advertisements: Ads help support BlazyPix. We allow Google AdSense to display ads, and as mentioned, these may be tailored to you based on cookies. We do not personally choose which ads you see, nor do we share personally identifiable info with advertisers.

  • To comply with legal obligations: If required by law or necessary to protect our rights, we may use or disclose information (for example, in response to lawful requests by public authorities).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may aggregate and anonymize data (for example, “X% of our readers are from the U.S.”) for understanding our audience or sharing with potential partners, but this data cannot be linked back to individual identities.

4. Third-Party Advertising and Analytics

Google AdSense: We use Google AdSense to display ads on BlazyPix. As a result, third-party vendors including Google may place or recognize cookies on your browser. These cookies help Google and its partners serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet. For example, Google might show you ads about something you viewed elsewhere, through what’s called interest-based advertising.

  • Opting Out of Personalized Ads: You have a choice. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. There is also a general industry opt-out at aboutads.info for other third-party vendors. If you opt out, you’ll still see ads, but they may be less relevant to your interests.

  • Other Ad Networks: If BlazyPix has not opted out of other third-party ad networks, there might be additional cookies by other advertisers or ad networks. We will update our policy to list those partners if we ever directly partner with them. In any case, you can visit the websites of any ad vendors to opt out of cookies if they offer that capability, or use the aboutads.info options to opt out of many ad cookies at once.

Analytics: If we use Google Analytics or similar, those services also set cookies to collect usage data (as described in Section 2). These analytics services have their own privacy policies. Google Analytics, for instance, collects data per their terms and it may use cookies and other means to help analyze how users use the site. We only see aggregated results (like total visitors, popular pages) – not who a specific visitor is. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on if you want.

Embedded Content: Occasionally, BlazyPix might embed content like YouTube videos, Instagram posts, or tweets in blog posts. Viewing that embedded content is like visiting the third-party site through our page, which means those third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, or embed additional third-party tracking. For example, if I embed a YouTube tutorial, YouTube might collect usage data according to their own privacy policies.

We are not responsible for how third-party providers collect or use your data; however, we choose reputable services and embed only what adds value to our content. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with via our links or embeds.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information you provide (like emails) for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose you provided it for (for instance, to respond to you or send a newsletter). If you leave a comment (in the future if comments are enabled), the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely, since that’s typically how blogs display past comments. Analytics data is retained as per the settings of the analytics tool (often 14 months by default for Google Analytics, for example). Server logs are generally rotated or deleted periodically and are used only for security and performance monitoring.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. The BlazyPix website is hosted on a platform that implements standard security protocols (such as HTTPS encryption). However, please understand that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You share information at your own risk and we encourage you to be careful with the information you submit online anywhere.

7. Children’s Privacy

BlazyPix is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from anyone under 13. If you are under 13, please do not provide any information on this site. In the event we discover we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. California Privacy Rights

While BlazyPix is not primarily a commercial enterprise that sells personal data, we aim to be transparent. If you are a California resident, you have the right to request information about what personal data is collected and to request deletion of your personal data. BlazyPix does not sell your personal information (no “sale” as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act). If you have any questions or requests regarding your personal data, you can contact us (see Section 10 below).

(If BlazyPix grows and formally falls under specific laws like CCPA or GDPR due to audience or business changes, we will update this section accordingly and possibly provide additional tools or notices.)

9. Your Choices & Consent

  • Opt-out of Communications: If in the future we start an email newsletter, each email will have an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time. If you directly email us and don’t want a response, just don’t provide contact info (though then we couldn’t reply!).

  • Disable Cookies: You can refuse all or some cookies by adjusting your browser settings. You can also clear cookies at any time. Keep in mind, disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this site (and others).

  • Advertising Choices: As noted, use Google Ads Settings to control personalized Google ads, or visit NAI’s opt-out to control many network advertisers’ cookies. There are also browser extensions and mobile device settings to limit ad tracking.

  • Do Not Track: “Do Not Track” (DNT) is a setting in some browsers that sends a signal to websites that you don’t want to be tracked. There’s currently no industry standard for DNT. Given that, our site does not respond differently to DNT signals. However, as described, you can opt out of analytics and ad tracking in other ways.

By using our site without opting out (or by clicking “Accept” on any cookie notice we might deploy), you consent to our use of cookies and third-party integrations as described.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us at contact@blazypix.com. We will do our best to address your inquiry promptly.

Thank you for reading our Privacy Policy. We value your trust and will continue working hard to safeguard your information and be transparent about our practices.
