Disclosure Policy
Integrity and transparency are core values of BlazyPix. I want you to trust what you read here. This Disclosure Policy outlines how I handle sponsored content, gifted products, or any other material connections with brands, in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines.
Sponsored Posts
If a post is sponsored – meaning a company has paid me to write on a certain topic or review a specific product – I will clearly disclose that it’s sponsored at the very beginning of the post. You’ll see a statement like, “This post is sponsored by XYZ brand.” I will also usually mention in the content that “XYZ brand approached me for an honest review” or similar context. Sponsored content will always be clearly labeled, so you’re never guessing.
Even when a post is sponsored, my opinions and statements are my own. I promise to give you my genuine experience. Sponsorship will not turn a bad product into a good one in my eyes – if I agree to a sponsored piece, it’s because I believe it could be interesting or beneficial for you, and I will still highlight pros and cons fairly. If a sponsor required a 100% positive, scripted review, I wouldn’t take the deal. Your trust means more to me than a paycheck.
Gifted Items / PR Samples
Sometimes companies send products for free hoping I might feature them. If I did not purchase a product myself and it was gifted (a PR sample), I will disclose that too. For example, you might see “(gifted)” or “(courtesy of [Brand])” when I mention or review that item. Just because something is gifted doesn’t guarantee coverage – I only feature items I actually like or find worth talking about. Receiving a free product will never guarantee a positive review or even any review at all. I mention it only if I genuinely want to share it with you. And if I do, I’ll let you know it was provided to me at no cost.
Affiliate Links
As described in the Affiliate Disclaimer, if a post contains affiliate links (where I earn a commission if you purchase), I will note that at the top of the post and/or next to the link. Look for phrases like “This post contains affiliate links” or a parenthetical “(affiliate link)” after a product name. I follow FTC guidance, which means disclosures will be hard to miss and in plain language (no hiding it in a hover or in tiny font). The idea is that you know exactly what kind of content you’re engaging with, so you can make informed decisions.
Authenticity First
No matter the collaboration – sponsored post, affiliate partnership, free sample, etc. – BlazyPix’s opinions are 100% authentic. I value the trust of my readers. If something doesn’t work for me, I’ll say so, even if it’s sponsored. If I love something, I’ll rave about it whether I bought it or it was gifted. You’ll get the real deal from me every time. I also select partnerships carefully: I turn down opportunities that don’t fit my content or that I’m not personally comfortable recommending. My goal is that any brand you see featured on BlazyPix feels like a natural fit for the blog and for you as the reader.
Examples of Disclosure Wording
To give you a clear picture, here are some ways you might see disclosures in action on BlazyPix:
-
“This post is sponsored by ABC Cosmetics. I only partner with brands I truly love; all opinions are my own.” – at the top of a blog post that’s sponsored.
-
“Thank you to XYZ Boutique for gifting me the jacket featured in this post!” – within an outfit post, indicating the jacket was free.
-
“I recommend this product (which was kindly sent to me by the brand to test).” – a subtle disclosure within the flow of writing.
-
“[Product Name] (affiliate link) – This is my holy-grail serum…” – the phrase “affiliate link” right next to the product that is linked with an affiliate code.
-
Asterisk (*) notation: e.g., “I bought these shoes myself, but the handbag was gifted by the brand.” with a note at the bottom explaining any asterisks.
I also make sure disclosures are placed prominently, i.e., before any linked or endorsed content, as required by FTC rules. You won’t have to scroll to the bottom or click somewhere else to find the disclosure – it’ll be where you’re reading, in the context of the endorsement.
Influencer & Social Media Posts
Although BlazyPix is primarily a blog, I may share content on social media (Instagram, etc.). On those platforms, I use clear hashtags like #ad, #sponsored, or #gifted when applicable, or platform-specific paid partnership labels, so that the nature of the content is obvious. I approach social media promotions with the same transparency as on the blog.
