Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how BlazyPix uses them on our site, and what options you have regarding cookies. By continuing to use BlazyPix, you agree to the use of cookies as described in this policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are tiny text files stored on your browser when you visit a website. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the site or a third-party to recognize you and make your next visit easier and more useful to you. Essentially, cookies are a user’s identification card for the BlazyPix servers. Cookies can be “persistent” (stays for a set period or until you delete it) or “session” (temporary cookie that deletes when you close your browser).
Cookies serve many functions. They can remember your preferences, keep you logged in (if a site has accounts), or provide anonymous tracking data to third-party applications like Google Analytics. Cookies by themselves do not tell us your email address or otherwise identify you personally in an offline sense. They typically contain information like a unique identifier, the site name, and some digits and numbers.
2. How BlazyPix Uses Cookies
We use cookies to improve your browsing experience and to support our site’s functionality and services. Specifically:
-
Essential Cookies: Some cookies are essential for the operation of our website. For example, if we use a cookie consent banner, a cookie will remember if you’ve already dismissed it so it doesn’t keep popping up. These cookies enable core functionality like page navigation. The site cannot function properly without these cookies, so they are usually set by default.
-
Preference Cookies: If applicable, these remember your choices (like if you set a dark mode or text size on a future version of the site). Currently, BlazyPix has minimal user-interface preferences, but if we introduce any, cookies might store those settings.
-
Analytics Cookies: We may use analytics cookies to collect information about how visitors use our site (which pages are viewed, how long on each page, what links are clicked, etc.). This helps us understand traffic patterns and improve our content. For example, Google Analytics (if used) sets cookies to anonymously track site usage. The information gathered is aggregated and not personally identifiable. It’s basically data like “X people visited the skincare tips article this week.”
-
Advertising Cookies: BlazyPix is monetized with Google AdSense ads. Advertising cookies are used by Google and its partners to serve ads that are relevant to you. If you see an ad on BlazyPix, that ad might have been tailored based on your browsing behavior. For instance, Google may set a cookie (like the DoubleClick cookie) to track what ads have been shown and to ensure you don’t see the same ad too many times, and to help select ads that match your interests. These cookies can track your browsing on BlazyPix and other sites that participate in the same ad networks. Importantly, no personal information like your name or email is revealed to us through these cookies – they operate on an anonymous ID basis.
Additionally, some cookies may be set by third-party services that we use on our site. For example, if we embed a YouTube video, YouTube might set cookies (like remembering your volume level or video preferences). If we integrate social media widgets (like a Facebook “share” button), those services may set cookies to allow proper functioning or to track usage (like to see if you’re logged into Facebook).
3. What Cookies Does BlazyPix Set?
To be transparent, here are examples of cookies you might encounter on BlazyPix (this is illustrative and not an exhaustive list, as cookies can change over time):
-
cookieConsent
– remembers if you closed the cookie notice (if applicable). -
__ga
,__gid
– Google Analytics cookies, if enabled, to distinguish users (anonymous). -
IDE
or_gads
– Google AdSense advertising cookies for ad personalization and frequency capping. -
Third-party embed cookies – e.g., YouTube might set
VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE
orYSC
when a video is present (for tracking video views and user settings).
(Note: The specific names and purposes of cookies will be updated as our site evolves or as we become aware of them. We aim to keep this section current, but there may be slight delays between new cookies being introduced and this list being updated.)
4. Your Control Over Cookies
Consent: When you first visit BlazyPix, if you’re coming from a region that requires consent (like the EU), you may see a banner or notice about cookies. If you continue to use the site, we take that as consent to cookies, as is standard. We provide this policy so you know what you’re consenting to. If you disagree, you should adjust your browser settings or not use the site.
Browser Settings: Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. You can also remove existing cookies through your browser’s settings. Keep in mind that disabling all cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites. For instructions on controlling cookies, it’s best to check your browser’s help documentation. Here are links to manage cookies on popular browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc. (These links are not listed here, but easily searchable on the browser’s support site).
Opt-Out Mechanisms: For advertising cookies, as mentioned in our Privacy Policy, you can opt out of Google’s personalized ads by visiting your [Ads Settings] on Google. You can also use the NAI opt-out tool to opt out of many ad network cookies at once. If we use other advertising partners in the future, we’ll update our opt-out information accordingly.
Do Not Track: You can enable Do Not Track in your browser, but as noted, we currently do not respond differently to DNT signals because there is no universal standard.
5. Cookies in Emails
BlazyPix may in the future send email newsletters or updates. Those emails might contain a tiny tracking pixel (basically a small image) that tells us if you opened the email or clicked a link. This helps gauge engagement. You can avoid this by not downloading images in emails or by unsubscribing if you prefer not to be tracked in that way. (No current newsletter is active, but this is a heads-up for any future email communication.)
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we start using new cookies or change the ones we use. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. If the changes are significant, we may post a prominent notice on the site. The “last updated” date at the bottom indicates when the policy was last revised.
By continuing to use BlazyPix, you agree to the use of cookies and similar technologies as described here.
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, you can contact us at contact@blazypix.com. Thank you for your patience in reading through this cookie spiel – we hope it was helpful! Enjoy your time on BlazyPix 😊.
